These introductory training sessions will introduce all the strokes you will need to control the kayak on flat water. Although an accidental capsize is possible every effort will be made to avoid this outcome which will be covered in the training. At the conclusion of the training before you shower the opportunity to take part in a controlled capsize and self rescue will be offered. However this is not a compulsory part of the course.

It aims to provide you with the basic knowledge to enable you to safely get in and out of your boat, make it move and return to your start point. This is your first step into the world of paddling, ensuring you feel safe, confident and ready to progress to the Discover Award.
